Using VobBlanker for splitting a DVD9 is simple. Most of that guide is for cleaning up the loose ends, stuff that isn't even strictly necessary. You open the DVD, blank the chapters in the 2nd half of the movie, and process. Then you open it again, this time blank ... Editing VOB FIle HELP - Vobblanker and dvdremake are not the tools for this task.
I don't use DVDRemake, but I know VobBlanker can be used for the job.

i read some articles and tutorials on this nice site, and found out, that there is tools that let me demux MKV-Files under MacOS 10.5 (Leopard). So i downloaded ' mkvtoolnix ' to do the job and start with extracting the tracks so i can remux/re-encode them later on.

I agree 100%. This file is already heavily compressed. Any conversion will lower quality without shrinking the file much. In the future .MTS will be expected.... quality of burned DVD is awful - If there is a time crunch to have finished DVDs, filmboss80's suggestion is worth considering. The absolute time-critical part of this is capturing the video at the service. If you also need to have finished DVD's ASAP as well, the stand-alone recorder is the fastest and easiest way to do this. If you record in the high quality mode, the encodin ...
