Re: horseweed, marestail - This sounds a little gross, and I'm not sure how he does it, but I was talking to a guy in our neighborhood last night and he says that to get rid of some of the weeds in his garden he uses dog pee (sprays the offending plant with a spray bottle) and the ph (or lack of?) kills it. I could see how this works as we have a male and female boxer and where they pee (especially if they both go in the same spot) it kills our grass.
The guy has a couple of dogs, so I'm guessing he gets them to pee in a bucket sometimes or something. It sounds gross to me, but I know that he doesn't use other chemicals unless they're organic. I'm just not sure I'd want to go that far to keep away from chemicals (but I don't have a huge weed problem right now). I wonder if there is something similar that is completely organic in a store or online that you could buy. Just a thought.... Re: Did you learn to sew... - 1. Females

Re: horseweed, marestail - that sounds good! i wish my growing area was not so big! by the time i get half way through, they are 'shooting' again! with our brittish rain, and all the other chores, i just put black plastic over some areas, which keeps them down a little, although they are pretty much still trying to grow under it! just a little slower!... Re: is ponoko craft or not? - Yeah, but with that definition, if you produced an iron-on design on your inkjet printer, that would not be craft either, because it was manufactured by Kinko's copy machine or whatever..... Re: do you craft jewelry in Los Angeles - I personally would be cautious about taking that company up on the offer. I've heard a couple of horror stories about stolen designs that could be easily reproduced in China or Indonesia for pennies. I would need to have a well written contract signed by all parties.... So with that definition in mind: Ponoko would not be craft. The intent is to allow others to design a product and have the manufacture of it be outsourced....
