Your Logo: The Face of Your Company

When it comes to all the different ways that you promote and advance your company, your logo stands out as the most prominent thing.

The reason is quite simple. The name of your company, unless particularly unique or odd, isn’t likely to let a person know very much about you. Furthermore, it can be difficult to remember a name, and most names don’t always contain a lot of personality. Think about the name Target. What does that really tell you about the business? Would you assume that’s for a department store, because I sure wouldn’t.

Now, the logo isn’t necessarily meant to explain your company, but it is meant to help a person more easily remember the name of your company. Using that previous example the actually logo for Target helps push the name by being a target itself, helping people to keep the company name in their mind.

Visual things are always easier to remember than just words. The more unique and interesting a visual is the better it sticks with a person. And a visual can add a lot of personality to a company as well if the logo is interesting enough.

The complete package of your name and logo next to each other should be designed so that both work well and build upon each other. Stylistically both should be a good fit for each other and combine for a great image.

The reason why this is so important is because it’s going to be on everything you do. When you send out any kind of advertisement you’re going to see that logo and company name on all of it.

Think about when you’re handing out promotional items at a tradeshow? If you get pad printing done and hand out a lot of notepads, your logo and company name will be sitting on someone’s desk for months. You have to be sure that your logo is good enough to make them want to give you a chance, and yes, a strong enough logo can have that effect.

Going beyond normal marketing and pad printing you need to be sure to embrace your logo as much as possible. Make it the center of your company and make sure that everything you do is closely linked to it. This means having it on the side of your building, on any vehicle associated with your business, any business card you get printed, and any product you sell.

If it has to do with your business your logo and company name are going to be on it somewhere. If they aren’t you’re wasting a good opportunity.

This is what you have ahead of you if you want to create a strong logo and brand name that will last through the years. Something that powerful takes time to build. There’s no better time to start building it than now.
