And the reverse also works. Light foods and rapid digestion equals to quick metabolism. The only way it does not work is if your body actually needs the heavy stuff, perhaps because you do a lot of exercise.

Mysteries of life? You’d be surprised how many of them revolve around food. For instance, if you eat certain foods, they will mess up your metabolism, while others would speed it up appropriately. I say it is something worth going to school to learn from scratch, don’t you think?

The hormones also help to facilitate a metabolism that you can be proud of. Ultimately, your life is that much better. So, don't just eat any kind of food; instead, take your time to choose and eat only those kinds of food that will help you achieve these results. Even if it takes you time to come up with your “proper food” list, do it!

This might sound strange, but your metabolism reacts not only to your food and exercise levels, but also to the environment in which you find yourself. You can use this to your advantage by moving to areas that give your system just what it needs when it does. To speed up your metabolism, you simply have to know where best you need to be.

Your metabolic rate also influences how much food you will require on the long run. If your metabolism is too fast, you will find yourself eating much a lot of the time, yet you would not be adding weight. Conversely, a slow metabolism harms you because you get not to eat, even when you need it. So you have to watch it every step of the way.
