What Causes Acne

Cystic acne is one of the most severe cases of acne out there. It is called cystic acne because of the cysts that grow when you are having an acne breakout. This is sometimes called Modular acne and can end up leaving your skin looking discolored and rather ugly. Often, those suffering with cystic acne will have to deal with scarring and permanent marks. There are new treatments available today for these unfortunate folks who have bad acne scars.

What people don't understand is that picking and messing around with your acne causes it to spread! Pimples have bacteria in them and if you pop a pimple or squeeze it so it runs then you are going to get exactly what you don't want which is more acne. Don't squeeze your zits unless you want them to spread. Once you squeeze a zit, even if it doesn't pop your hand will pick up the bacteria and if you touch your face later you can get more zits. Simple enough.

You can combat acne and help prevent breakouts in a number of ways. One of the most overlooked ways to prevent acne is to watch your diet. The food we eat has a lot to do with how your body reacts to different things and acne is one of them. Drinking lots of water is good too because it helps you clean yourself out. There are many toxins in your body from the things we eat and breath and water is a wonderful purifier. So if you don't drink a lot of water there has never been a better time to start drinking up!

You can see a dermatologist about your cystic acne and the doctor can prescribe some good acne treatments for you which will clear you up fast. They are expensive though but what would you rather have, a hundred bucks in your pocket or clear skin? I would suppose clear skin is what most would rather have.

There are much less expensive products on the market today that you can purchase over the counter or online and they work wonders too. You may also try some home remedies. For most people a home remedy is squeezing the pimples so they go away but remember, this is the worst thing you can do.

Most experts agree that if your cystic acne, or any kind of acne for that matter is severe then you should see a dermatologist. As soon as you go to see the dermatologist he is going to tell you to stop touching and squeezing your pimples as that only aggravates the condition and you will end up with scars.

It is a myth that if you eat too much chocolate then you will suffer an acne break out. This isn't true but you should keep an overall healthy diet for sure. But eating too much chocolate is a myth. Also, acne is not caused by being unclean as many people think. It has much mnore to do with hormones than how many times you wash your face everyday.
