How to Create a Viral Explosion

Viral marketing or word of mouth marketing can really boost the size of your downline virtually overnight. But how do you create a viral marketing explosion? Check out the techniques listed below to learn how others have successful made use of “word of mouse” marketing on the Net.

(1) The Giveaway

All campaigns start with the “giveaway”. You have to have something that you business offers for free or that it can grant free access to in order start the ball rolling. This can be humorous videos, podcasts or audio files or touching or inspiring “Hallmark Moment” style articles or films.

The most traditional and the most affordable viral piece is the venerable “ebook” the cuter, younger sister to the white paper. In a good viral ebook, you must focus on a single problem or pressing situation. Be it growing a downline for free, or how to mentor a downline, etc. Your ebook but stay with one topic and then drilldown and display all the details of the solution.

(2) Touch Your Audience

The main reason pieces go viral is that the creators touch their audience’s heart. You much make your audience feel something, either through inspiration, controversy or by way of their funny bone. You must get them involved for as long as they are reading or watching your viral giveaway. The simplest way to do this is by doing the unexpected. This is way your creative thinking cap comes in handy.

(3) Make Passing the Word Easy

Once have your viral piece developed, use a format for it that people can easily access and that is simple for then to share with friends. If it’s video, then you can upload it to YouTube or some other popular video directory. If it is an ebook your can give people the right to download and giveaway as a bonus (as long as it is unchanged). But however you distribute it make it simple and fast to circulate around the net.

(4) Drive Traffic

Now that your viral piece has been uploaded and is ready to spread like around the Internet like a weed, you can start driving traffic to it. Write articles on related topics and submit to article directories. Link back to your viral piece, encourage people to share it around.

Make press releases. Visit related blogs and leave comments. Use pop-ups on your website, asking people to check out your viral piece and give you feedback. Go to forums and leave posts. Send a special issue to your email list, inviting them to see the piece and help you get the word out.
