It is not guaranteed that scented candles with synthetic odors have the same therapeutic effects found in aromatherapy scented candles. Therefore, people are advised to buy those that are authentically used for aromatherapy purposes. This can be determined by the price and by reading the label.

The essential oils used as base for expensive designer perfumes are similar to those used in making aromatherapy scented candles.
